Villa Bratislava is a proposal by Transform for Penta Investments in 2009. It is located in Bratislava Slovakia in a urbanization setting. Its scale is small with a surface of 500 sqm. Key materials are glass and concrete.

A villa is a single family house surrounded by a garden. To design a modern version of the villa we went back to the initial concept of a villa and rethought the idea for the intense reality of 2010. The modern villa is created by rethinking, both functionally and aesthetically, the relationship between garden and house. The garden, in our project, is divided into 4 different zones CAR, QUIET, PARTY, and LOUD. 4 functional ‘clusters’ or ‘huts’ are identified in the villa-program KIDS, PARENTS, EAT, and SERVICE. The 4 ‘huts’ are then spread to the sides of the plot activating the entire site and separating the 4 gardens. By dissolving the image of the gardens onto the reflective facades of the villa, we create an inevitable, visual, and functional relationship between garden and house.
