Insouciance is a proposal by Margine for Italian cultural institute of Paris in 2020. It is located in Paris France in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 6.500 sqm. Key materials are stone, glass and concrete. Enrico Durante collaborated as visualizer.

Insouciance is an experimental project presented at the exhibition contest “Le ali ritrovate dell’Hotel de Galliffet”, promoted by the Institute of Italian Culture in collaboration with the MAXXI and the Biennale of Architecture in Venice.

The competition aims to enhance and give a new life to the Hôtel de Galliffet, this historic building, now home to the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, which was the theater of European diplomatic politics and has been part of Italian heritage for a century. The south wing, known as the «Varenne wing», demolished in the 1970s following serious infiltrations, is destined to become a place of residence to accommodate the promoters of Italian excellence visiting Paris, while the west wing, incomplete from the 1950s, it will host classes for courses and offices.
